Where Is Home?

Am I the “Rich man” or Lazarus? Let me share with you…

“The Lord says this: ‘A curse on the man who puts his trust in man,
who relies on things of flesh, whose heart turns from the Lord. He is like dry scrub in the wastelands: if good comes, he has no eyes for it, he settles in the parched places of the wilderness, a salt land, uninhabited.

A blessing on the man who puts his trust in the Lord, with the Lord for his hope.
He is like a tree by the waterside that thrusts its roots to the stream: when the heat comes it feels no alarm, its foliage stays green; it has no worries in a year of drought, and never ceases to bear fruit.

The heart is more devious than any other thing, perverse too: who can pierce its secrets? I, the Lord, search to the heart, I probe the loins, to give each man what his conduct and his actions deserve.’ “Jeremiah 17:5-10

You always here – “Home is where the heart is” But to fully answer this, you must answer honestly, where is your Heart?

Home is where our Lord is. A house is shelter.

As I was “LISTENING” at mass this morning, I was captivated by the REALIZATION of how, the “Church” is my home and my comfort. I never want to leave Mass anymore. My “Home” can never be taken away from me. When I leave Mass, I head to work. No matter where I go. The place where I sleep, is where I work. The place I shop, is where I work. The place I prepare meals, is where I work. I can always find “Work” everywhere I go, but my “Home” is with Our Lord.

My husband and I are about to lose our house. A house that provided shelter for us. As I am packing up boxes and coming to terms, I must admit I was a bit taken back and scared at first, but now can see this as a path we must take. God provided this house and now we must head elsewhere. Granted, we are in NO WAY, The Holy Family, but they too had to pack up and leave on several occasions.

I know that no matter where we find “Shelter”, my “Home” is where my heart is, and my heart is with our Lord Jesus Christ. Almighty Father I ask you through your Most Holy Son, Lord Jesus Christ, to lead the way…

The Annunciation

Imagine your a 14 year old girl. An angel appears and you agree to do something you don’t understand, because it was asked of you from God… Your entire life has been plotted out from that moment on. Day after day. Second after second, because you were told everything that was going to happen to you in advance. Although at times, you can not recall the events, until they are happening, or have passed. As it is happening, you can only keep your composure, and work through the pain and agonize, because it is for God’s glory. Thank you most Holy Mother Mary…for saying yes.

Now in the sixth month, the archangel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, to a virgin pledged to be married to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. 28Having come in, the angel said to her, “Rejoice, you highly favored one! The Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women!” But when she saw him, she was greatly troubled at the saying, and considered what kind of salutation this might be. The angel said to her, “Don’t be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. Behold, you will conceive in your womb, and bring forth a son, and will call his name ‘Jesus.’ He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father, David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever. There will be no end to his Kingdom.” Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, seeing I am a virgin?” The angel answered her, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore also the holy one who is born from you will be called the Son of God. Behold, Elizabeth, your relative, also has conceived a son in her old age; and this is the sixth month with her who was called barren. For everything spoken by God is possible.” Mary said, “Behold, the handmaid of the Lord; be it to me according to your word.” The angel departed from her.
