Our Environment And The Last Straw

eye-of-the-needle

“Again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for one who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.” Matt 19:24

As many of you have heard, California lawmakers have passed a law making it a crime,  banning the distribution or sale of plastic straws, to help combat the ocean of plastic garbage which is putting all God’s creatures in danger.

In my humble opinion, this law and many like it being imposed on American citizens, may help as much as tossing a lounge chair off the Titanic so as to avoid sinking. We in this nation, have an infrastructure to handle the recycling of plastics, aluminum and other items, in such a way, it has become an industry in of itself. Most if not all city’s and municipality’s have trash pick up along with recycle pick up, that we place at the curb, making tons of money off the process. Which not only keep our towns and city’s much cleaner, but manage to put many souls to work, creating jobs for people all over this nation.

Who is tossing out all this garbage? We are. We, being human beings across the world. The problem is NOT overpopulation. The problem is not the use of plastics. The problem IS not providing for the needs of the least among us. Our brothers and sisters living in conditions in areas of the world that have never known any other way.

Now, lets look at the number one problem of the worlds plastic garbage issues which IS killing our Lords creatures…

Have we helped any nation to build an infrastructure as this? Have we provided for the needs of our brothers and sisters in third world nations where trash is simply tossed out the front door? Have we educated children and adults on the subject, in other nations in regards to how we all share this planet that our Lord has made? Or have we just been hoping and praying someone else will take care of it?

The reality is folks, If you seek to clean and care for the environment, you MUST care for the needs of human beings first. If we seek to save the sea turtle and the dolphin, for it to be a success, we must strive to save the human being first and foremost. It is we who save them.

Place God first, and all else falls into place..

Never forget that our Lord was Crucified in a garbage dump.

‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

  1. PSALM 65
    .7 You uphold the mountains with your strength,
    you are girded with power.
    .8 You still the roaring of the seas,
    (the roaring of their waves,)
    and the tumult of the peoples.

    .9 The ends of the earth stand in awe
    at the sight of your wonders.
    The lands of sunrise and sunset
    you fill with your joy.

    .10 You care for the earth, give it water;
    you fill it with riches.
    Your river in heaven brims over
    to provide its grain.

    And thus you provide for the earth;
    .11 you drench its furrows;
    you level it, soften it with showers;
    you bless its growth.

    .12 You crown the year with your goodness.
    Abundance flows in your steps;
    .13 in the pastures of the wilderness it flows.

    The hills are girded with joy,
    .14 the meadows covered with flocks,
    the valleys are decked with wheat.
    They shout for joy, yes they sing.
