Jubilee Year of Fatima: 100 Years

OLF

The picture above, was taken by me at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church, in Lemon grove, CA, on Thursday, September 8, 2011. It was the day of the great Southwest Blackout and the Pilgrim Statue of Our Lady of Fatima was visiting my parish at the time. It was the most beautiful event I had attended.

OLF2

The church was lit as we set up for the Pilgrim Statues arrival, and had  a procession of our Lady of Fatima scheduled along with Exposition of our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament all day and praying the Holy Rosary on the hour, every hour, by different ministry’s in our Parish, from the time of its arrival, to the time of its departure, concluding with benediction.

Our Lord

You can see in this photo, at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church, we have a huge stained glass window in the back of the church of all the Archangels. As you can see, it is reflecting on our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. To see this in person was spectacular!

OLF3

At 3;38 PM, the lights went out due to the largest power outage in California history and we began to light the Church by candlelight, as the sun began to set.

OLF1

Thanks to a few souls, we had two flashlights provided also, to help others for the Liturgy and to place more light on the statue of our Holy Mother.

Procession

The procession was lovely and the moon became big and bright this night, as it became the light to guide us on our way.

OLF4

I will never forget this day. So many beautiful things occurred to bring many souls together under the most complex circumstances, to make this day and evening, one of the more beautiful days of our lives in prayer.

Fatima 5

On this Saturday, May 13, 2017, it marks 100 years since the first Apparition of our Lady to the shepherd children in Fatima Portugal. I will be attending a special meeting with my Carmelite Brothers and Sisters for Holy Mass, a renewal of our Carmelite Promises and listening to a talk given by our former Spiritual Director. Later Saturday Night, my husband and I will be attending “Date Night” at our Parish, in which Married couples come together to reflect on the love they have for one another through the Sacrament of Marriage. I mention this,  for this reason:

Sister Lucia dos Santos, one of the three children who witnessed the Marian apparitions at Fatima, died in 2005. But before her death, she predicted that the final battle between Christ and Satan would be over marriage and the family.

Thank you Our Lady of Fatima, for prayers answered. I pray again, through you Most Beautiful Flower, Our Lady of Fatima, intercede for us still, and for the entire world, for the conversion of sinners, for the intentions of our Holy Father Pope Francis and for all the intentions of the Sacred Heart of your Son, our Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen

Repent, and believe.

Pope Francis has granted a plenary indulgence opportunity for the 100th anniversary of the Fatima apparitions throughout the centennial year, from the 27th of November 2016 till the 26th of November 2017.

Our Lady of Fatima, Pray for us!

Our Father:

Our Father, Who art in heaven
Hallowed be Thy Name;
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.

The Creed:

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord: Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary; suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

Thanks Mom 2017

Mama

My husband & I had been working all day on our gardening. Its been about four years since I have been able to do any weeding or serious physical working, as my back and neck issues had been declining. Today and yesterday, our Lord allowed me the grace to get out and do some serious physical work. It was wonderful!

We had lost everything in the drought. There wasn’t much left growing in front of our home. Even our palm trees died. You can imagine the mess. So, we decided to just level everything and start over, planting nothing but succulents with a wonderful rock garden, a sand base and maybe a dry river bed. Something easy for us to take care of and didn’t need a lot of water nor upkeep.

We cut back a wall of dead ice plant that had overgrown the retaining wall which leads up to the back yard. Clearing out almost everything that should have been done a long time ago. As we ended tonight, and entered our home and we had a beautiful sense of accomplishment. We were able to get something done together that had been bothering both of us, for a long time. Working together to get it done. Mind you, it was only the cleaning out of four years of overgrown deep weeds and dead trees and plants. We haven’t started the new decorating yet, but we did it together to build something new.

I walked out on the balcony to take some pictures and I posted them to my social media page. As I looked at the pictures, I seen something I hadn’t before. That retaining wall. The one that was unseen for many years, covered in overgrown dead ice plant. I realized quickly where my Mama Mary Garden would now be. The retaining wall looked just like a snake with its head cut off.  It will soon have a statue of our Holy Mother,  above the water fall in the corner of it. Mothers Day is just around the corner.

May is the month of Mary. May she be crowned Queen of Heaven and Earth, in all hearts.

May your goals and resolutions be in the coming year, and all years to come,  to become Saints of our Lord Jesus Christ.

May Peace find you, may Joy embrace you and may Hope drive you to seek Him.

He sure did!

This is my daughter Chloe and her reaction to the empty tomb at Santa Sophia Catholic Church after Holy Mass today. We share the same expression for all He does.

Thank you Lord for all your gifts, especially the gift of Life.

Happy Easter – He is risen indeed!

Thank You Mama: Holy Saturday

mama

“And Mary kept all these things, reflecting on them in her heart”

Just as our Lord was created for this, Mama, as were you. I thank our Lord for the gift of you, Immaculate Conception, to strengthen us, not only in that dreaded time of darkness, but in all time. On His Cross, as He spoke the words, “Woman, behold thy son. Son, behold thy mother.”, you “O most beautiful flower of Mt. Carmel, fruitful vine, splendor of Heaven”, became our Mother.

From the Annunciation and the moment of your yes, it was your yes that carry’s all your children through the dark and into the Light of your Son, as your Son, our Lord, carries us through to our Father.

Thank you Mama, our Mother, O Most Beautiful Woman who the Holy Spirit had already descended upon to strengthen the Children of God in our days of darkness. Happy Mother’s Day. I love you.

I pray for all souls today, who do not know our Lord or what He has done. I pray Mama through your intercession, that all souls pull closer to listen, repent and to believe Him and in Him. “And the One seated on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.”
