Holy Innocents

As I ponder this day, I am reminded of the descent into hell. These innocent little ones, waited 33 years for the coming of the Lord to free them and open the gate to Heaven. A sentence of 33 years for simply being thought to be the King of Kings. The King of Kings, who served 33 years here in exile, for us.

Pray for us,  Holy Innocents.

From a sermon by Saint Quodvultdeus, bishop
(Sermo 2 de Symbolo: PL 40, 655)

They cannot speak, yet they bear witness to Christ

A tiny child is born, who is a great king. Wise men are led to him from afar. They come to adore one who lies in a manger and yet reigns in heaven and on earth. When they tell of one who is born a king, Herod is disturbed. To save his kingdom he resolves to kill him, though if he would have faith in the child, he himself would reign in peace in this life and for ever in the life to come.

Why are you afraid, Herod, when you hear of the birth of a king? He does not come to drive you out, but to conquer the devil. But because you do not understand this you are disturbed and in a rage, and to destroy one child whom you seek, you show your cruelty in the death of so many children.

You are not restrained by the love of weeping mothers or fathers mourning the deaths of their sons, nor by the cries and sobs of the children. You destroy those who are tiny in body because fear is destroying your heart. You imagine that if you accomplish your desire you can prolong your own life, though you are seeking to kill Life himself.

Yet your throne is threatened by the source of grace—so small, yet so great—who is lying in the manger. He is using you, all unaware of it, to work out his own purposes freeing souls from captivity to the devil. He has taken up the sons of the enemy into the ranks of God’s adopted children.

The children die for Christ, though they do not know it. The parents mourn for the death of martyrs. The child makes of those as yet unable to speak fit witnesses to himself. See the kind of kingdom that is his, coming as he did in order to be this kind of king. See how the deliverer is already working deliverance, the savior already working salvation.

But you, Herod, do not know this and are disturbed and furious. While you vent your fury against the child, you are already paying him homage, and do not know it.

How great a gift of grace is here! To what merits of their own do the children owe this kind of victory? They cannot speak, yet they bear witness to Christ. They cannot use their limbs to engage in battle, yet already they bear off the palm of victory.

Post US Election Observation

jesus-king-of-kings

I need to make one thing very clear to some Catholics on facebook, (edit to add: and Catholics all over “social media”) attacking other Catholics who voted for Trump. Remember when we had Primary’s in this country and the same folks who were FORCED to vote for Trump in the General Election, did NOT in any way support Trump and choose another candidate? No. You don’t. Because you can’t see past the beam in your own eye while you try to pick the sliver out of your neighbors eye.

Your third party candidate didn’t win. Clinton didn’t win. And when THIS Catholic voted for Trump, I held my nose and voted, doing my civic duty, because NEITHER candidate was, in my mind, worthy of the title of President of the USA. As for your third party Candidate? I live in California, and a vote for ANY candidate not a Democrat, doesn’t matter because this state is so blue, its dead. I have grown tired of being accused of Trump Worship or any political leader worship simply because I didn’t vote for YOUR guy, by those who obviously do not understand that there ARE people in this country who do not worship political leaders, NOR the “Idols” we create for ourselves which separate us from our Lord.

Adding to the pettiness of the communist & socialist protests in the streets, by engaging in the same Anti-Catholic rhetoric as they do, falsely accusing your Brothers & Sisters in Christ, and attacking back with prideful hurt “feelings” because you can’t yet live the Beatitudes, brings NOTHING to the Glory of our Lord. I highly suggest you put away your political rantings reeking of idol worship hidden behind the banner of “Social Justice”, which truly exposes your false piety, and lack of love for neighbor and return to your first Love. 1 John 4:18.

Here is the thing about the political left and political right. They both practice the same religion of nationalism. The hate on one side, is no different than the hate on the other side. I beg my brothers & sister in Christ, to pull closer to our Lord. Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you. Hold fast and tight to our Lord. Practice what is preached. Pray more and LOVE anyway. – Peg Demetris

Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created. And You shall renew the face of the earth.

O, God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit, did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever enjoy His consolations, Through Christ Our Lord, Amen.

Happy Birthday!

May we all unwrap the heavenly gifts of the most gracious Holy Spirit, use them all for the glory of God, be grateful and give thanks to our Lord Jesus Christ, for the gift of Himself, to us.

Eternal Life Descending

Cristo-caminhando-sobre-as-águas

Our Lords journey into the unknown realm of death, for love of us, can and will never be unknown again.

“When I caught sight of him, I fell down at his feet as though dead. He touched me with his right hand and said, “Do not be afraid. I am the first and the last, the one who lives. Once I was dead, but now I am alive forever and ever. I hold the keys to death and the netherworld.” Revelation 1 17:18

Eternal Love passed the test. Jesus Christ is LORD

You O Lord, today, still, churn the ocean of Mercy, making it difficult for my soul to escape the abyss of Your precious love, mercy and forgiveness. I freely give all that I am, my life, my will, my heart, my all to You O Lord, uniting my pitiful love to your Eternal Love for all eternity. It was and is you O Lord, who freed me from the chains of sin and death. I seek only to do thy will. Do with me as you see fit. They will be done. Amen

Something…

i_thirst

Something very profound took place as I was laying the hospital ER, on a stretcher last week that I know in my heart our Lord needs me to share.

It was before they understood what was taking place with my heart and in all honesty, they thought it was nothing and wanted once again to send me home. It was our Lord in my heart, telling me to tell them, I needed to stay. SO they kept me overnight.

As I was laying on the stretcher, they had given me a painkiller, to numb the chest pains I was having at the time. Nothing extreme like morphine or anything like that. It was just to dull the pain to get my breathing rate to come back to almost normal.

The nurse left the room, my husband had left me to attend his class and I relaxed as much as I could. I knew our Lord was with me as He had made it so blatant that He was with me. I began to feel all the water from all places in my body pull away and I became so thirsty. My lips began to chafe and my tongue became dry. “I Thirst” rang out all through me as I knew our Lord was allowing me to see His pain. His “Thirst”. For a very long time, I sat and thought of nothing but Him on the cross. Gazing only on Him in His pain. I felt a wave of all the water that had been pulled away wash over me, so gently that the moisture returned and watered my very soul. This took place many times that day in the ER and I am sure our Lord needs to have you hear.. “I Thirst”.

Yesterday, the couple who bring me our Lord in the Eucharist, brought me blessed salt and Holy Water for drinking. The entire experience rang out to me, and when I received our Lord, after my deep prayers with Him, I grabbed a glass, poured that Blessed Holy Water, tasted it, and handed the rest to my husband…..

I ponder that there is no amount of time to separate me, no amount of suffering, no amount of loss or gain, that can stop me from quenching my Lord and my God’s thirst…

I love Him. I’m in love with Him.

Glory to God

All Day, All Night

Our Lord

This photo surfaced today from the movie The Passion Of The Christ. As soon as I seen it, I couldn’t help but see this as it truly is. Don’t look at this photo as an actor receiving instructions from a director. Think of this as a man speaking to our Lord through his day. Sitting with his best friend. Asking His advise in all his ways.

This is how each and every one of us, who say we “believe” should spend all our days. Never forget, He IS right with you at all times. Talk to Him throughout the day and never think for a moment He is not there with you, at every moment and not just when you need Him. This is how I spend every second of my day and night. Outside of Holy Mass, this is how it is.

I don’t see Jim Caviezel or Mel Gibson in this photo. I see for the first time, someone able to capture a snapshot of the reality of Faith.

Prayer for Life

John_Paul_the_Great_and_child

Prayer for Life by Pope John Paul II

O Mary, bright dawn of the new world, Mother of the living, to you do we entrust the cause of life: Look down, O Mother, upon the vast numbers of babies not allowed to be born, of the poor whose lives are made difficult, of men and women who are victims of brutal violence, of the elderly and the sick killed by indifference or out of misguided mercy. Grant that all who believe in your son may proclaim the Gospel of life with honesty and love to the people of our time. Obtain for them the grace to accept that Gospel as a gift ever new, the joy of celebrating it with gratitude throughout their lives, and the courage to bear witness to it resolutely, in order to build, together with all people of good will, the civilization of truth and love, to the praise and glory of God, the Creator and lover of life.

Blessed Pope John Paul II, pray for us…

Blessed Pope John XXIII, pray for us…

Amen

Corpus Christi

CC Feast

“I would like to encourage those associations of the faithful and confraternity specifically devoted to Eucharistic adoration; they serve as a leaven of contemplation for the whole church and a summons to individuals and communities to place Christ at the center of their lives.” (Pope Benedict XVI, Sacramentum Caritatis, 2007)
“…the secret of their sanctification lies precisely in the Eucharist. (…) The priest must be first and foremost an adorer who contemplates the Eucharist” (Pope Benedict XVI, Angelus, September 18, 2005)

With the feast of Corpus Christi next week, I ask my readers to please consider spending one hour in Adoration of our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. He is calling you. Do not leave Him alone. He is truly there waiting for you! I can not live without Him. My Lord and my God. After a wonderful confession in 2008, my penance was to spend time with Him in Adoration. At that time I broke down like a repentant sinner should. I looked up to Him in the monstrance and recognized His beautiful face. Literally. From that moment on, it solidified my faith in Him and the beauty of His words “”This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.” He is present in ALL the Tabernacle’s of the world. Please do not leave Him alone. “Couldn’t you men keep watch with me for one hour?”

“Christ held Himself in His hands when He gave His Body to His disciples saying: ‘This is My Body.’ No one partakes of this Flesh before he has adored it.”
– St. Augustine

“I throw myself at the foot of the Tabernacle like a dog at the foot of his Master.”
– St. John Vianney

“God dwells in our midst, in the Blessed Sacrament of the altar.”
– St. Maximilian Kolbe

“To reach something good it is very useful to have gone astray, and thus acquire experience.” St. Teresa of Avila

Christ In The Manger

christmas-manger

Christmas morning, my daughter received a drawing pad where the pen writes with water. As the day calmed down from the excitement of opening gifts, I held it and began to draw. The first thing to come to mind was the Chi-Rho. As I drew it on the pad, I quickly seen the Infant Christ in the manger. Keep in mind, I have never been given the gift of artists and my ability to draw is as advanced as drawing stick people. When i drew it, the “P” looked like the “Babe” and the “X” His manger. Today, I can still see the same, but with a much deeper meaning.

Chi-Rho

From Conception to Resurrection and Beyond.

The Chi-Rho invokes the crucifixion of Jesus, as well as symbolizing his status as the Christ.

Palm Sunday – Hosanna

“Hosanna!

Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord,

[even] the king of Israel.”

Jesus found an ass and sat upon it, as is written:

“Fear no more, O daughter Zion; see, your king comes, seated upon an ass’s colt.”
