Mary, Mother of God

‘Sobotni promyk” – Piotr Stachiewicz (1858-1938)

January 1, 2021, we celebrate the Solemnity of Mary the Mother of God. True God and True man.

Ponder, if you will, the tasks of a Mother. Contemplate our Holy Mother doing these same tasks for our Lord. He needed to grow into a man, to eat, to drink, to be changed, to be bathed, to be held, to be comforted, to be taught. To be loved.

Ponder his cooing to her, how He gazed into her eyes, how he touched her face as she held Him near.

Ponder, did she teach Him to say Abba first before He said Mama?

She is a Mother like all mothers in sharing every responsibility that comes with Motherhood and unlike any other mother, being the Immaculate Conception.

Pray for us, O holy Mother of God. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Prayer For Priests

assumptionofMary1

Virgin most holy, Mother of God, Immaculate Heart of Mary I pray, protect our Lords priests this day and always from the evil one. Crush him, again and again I beg you that they may see his evil intentions and pull closer together into the arms of our Lord and complete His will through the grace of piety that you most Holy Mother in Heaven are so full of, along with all the graces needed that you Most Loving Mother understand that are needed today. May they, through you, Blessed Mother, overcome this world and be strengthened to carry the heavy crosses assigned to them by our Lord, with greater ease and peace. I pray through you Mama Mary, most favorite of Abba Father, to your Son our Lord.

Amen

Presentation Of The Blessed Virgin Mary

Theotokos!

O God, Who didst will that on this day
the blessed ever Virgin Mary,
the dwelling-place of the Holy Ghost,
should be presented in the temple:
grant, we beseech Thee,
that through her intercession,
we may be made worthy to be presented in the temple of Thy glory.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, Thy Son,
Who liveth and reigneth with Thee
in the unity of the Holy Ghost, one God,
world without end.

Amen.

The below test was taken from EWTN:

Religious parents never fail by devout prayer to consecrate their children to the divine service and love, both before and after their birth. Some amongst the Jews, not content with this general consecration of their children, offered them to God in their infancy, by the hands of the priests in the temple, to be lodged in apartments belonging to the temple, and brought up in attending the priests and Levites in the sacred ministry. It is an ancient tradition, that the Blessed Virgin Mary was thus solemnly offered to God in the temple in her infancy.[1] This festival of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin, or, as it is often called by the Greeks, the entrance of the Blessed Virgin into the Temple, is mentioned in the most ancient Greek Menologies extant.
