Let There Be Light

sperm-flash_1024

Today is Respect Life Sunday. The above photo is the very moment of conception.

Granted, its simply “imaging” and seen as “light”, and not an actual burst of “Light”. But it sure is the moment of conception, and the very moment of ensoulment.

Ponder if you will..

Then God said: Let there be light, and there was light. ….

Then God said: Let us make* human beings in our image, after our likeness.

The very moment of conception, a soul is created at the very moment LIGHT appears. Ponder for a moment the Shroud of Turin as it ‘was created by flash of supernatural light. How was that light able to be?

LightJesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

Via the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

2271 Since the first century the Church has affirmed the moral evil of every procured abortion. This teaching has not changed and remains unchangeable. Direct abortion, that is to say, abortion willed either as an end or a means, is gravely contrary to the moral law:

You shall not kill the embryo by abortion and shall not cause the newborn to perish.75God, the Lord of life, has entrusted to men the noble mission of safeguarding life, and men must carry it out in a manner worthy of themselves. Life must be protected with the utmost care from the moment of conception: abortion and infanticide are abominable crimes.76

At the very moment of conception, that soul is our neighbor. That soul has been created in the exact same way you have been. That soul, is beginning the path of this life. The same path we all started on. How then can we say that some are simply medical waste or not worthy of life, when they live already? LIFE begins at conception.

EGOzOPBWwAAPytz

Our Lady of the Rosary, intercede for souls just conceived, and all of us. that we may enjoy this life in exile, given to us all as a gift, until our Lord calls us home to Him, at His appointed time. May souls already born, see Your Light O Lord, Divine Heart of Jesus, pray for us to end abortion and to allow all human life the same dignity and rights, that we have received from our You who lives and reigns with our Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.

 Amen.

From Tonight’s Divine Office:

1 Peter 1:3-5

Praised be the God and Father
of our Lord Jesus Christ,
he who in his great mercy
gave us new birth;
a birth unto hope which draws its life
from the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead;
a birth to an imperishable inheritance,
incapable of fading or defilement,
which is kept in heaven for you
who are guarded with God’s power through faith;
a birth to a salvation which stands ready
to be revealed in the last days.

Unplanned

Jessica

My little Jessica

If you are contemplating abortion, and scared to death about the child you are carrying, don’t be. I was 20 when my daughter Jessica was born. I do not regret a thing about bringing her into this world, because every soul on earth suffers in one way or another. She is a gift from God to me, that held this soul of mine together during a very disobedient time in my life. I often say that if it was not for her entering my life when she did, I wouldn’t be writing about this today.  It was 1987, I was scared to tell my mom, but I knew I needed to tell her. I was having complications, so I went in to see the Doctor who actually delivered me. When the news came that I was indeed pregnant, in front of my mom and my sister, the Doctor asked me if I wanted to keep it. Without hesitation, I said yes. I honestly couldn’t believe he had asked me that, and those words damaged me later on in life.

I was exhausted when she came, had no clue what life was truly about but I had to learn fast. I did not have a clue about what it was to be a parent when she came. She was born on the Feast of The Little Flower and Baptized on St. Valentines Day. I did know that this little soul God gave me to care for, for Him, was a much needed anchor to my life. I was 20 years old, dirt poor, single and entered into a failed marriage simply because I was pregnant. Life was hard, really hard. But it became much harder when I said no to the life of another child entering into our life.  Please see my post: The Pain Of Abortion

There is a lot more to this story with my daughter, but, the fact remains that life is amazingly better because of her being here. There is no one else on earth, who can say they truly grew up with me, but her. I love this woman.

Here we are today, 32 years later and that child became a very independent strong beautiful woman with a B.S. in Natural Resources, full of life and a life worth living Please let your child live. Life is not just about you. Life is about all of us.

No one is immune from suffering, neither was our Lord. Please do not listen to the talking heads telling you to murder your child through abortion. Let your child live, your life is not about you.

There is a fantastic movie out in theaters that each and every soul needs to see.

I highly suggest it.

Insults & Blasphemy Against Our Holy Mother

s-l300

For those who do not know her perfect beauty… Pray

Found in Racccolta, 1950

Reparation for insults to the Blessed Virgin Mary

O Blessed Virgin, Mother of God, look down in mercy from Heaven, where thou art enthroned as Queen, upon me, a miserable sinner, thine unworthy servant. Although I know full well my own unworthiness, yet in order to atone for the offenses that are done to thee by impious and blasphemous tongues, from the depths of my heart I praise and extol thee as the purest, the fairest, the holiest creature of all God’s handiwork. I bless thy Holy name, I praise thine exalted privilege of being truly Mother of God, ever Virgin, conceived without stain of sin, Co-Redemptrix of the human race. I bless the Eternal Father who chose thee in an especial way for His daughter; I bless the Word Incarnate who took upon Himself our nature in thy bosom and so made thee His Mother; I bless the Holy Spirit who took thee as His bride. All honor, praise and thanksgiving to the ever-blessed Trinity who predestined thee and loved thee so exceedingly from all eternity as to exalt thee above all creatures to the most sublime heights. O Virgin, holy and merciful, obtain for all who offend thee the grace of repentance, and graciously accept this poor act of homage from me thy servant, obtaining likewise for me from thy Divine Son the pardon and remission of all my sins. Amen.

Reparation for blasphemy against the Blessed Virgin Mary

Most glorious Virgin Mary, Mother of God and our Mother, turn thine eyes in pity upon us, miserable sinners; we are sore afflicted by the many evils that surround us in this life, but especially do we feel our hearts break within us upon hearing the dreadful insults and blasphemies uttered against thee, O Virgin Immaculate. O how these impious sayings offend the infinite Majesty of God and of His only-begotten Son, Jesus Christ! How they provoke His indignation and give us cause to fear the terrible effects of His vengeance! …We desire, O most Holy Mother, to love thee and to honor thee with all our hearts, since this is the Will of God. And just because we love thee, we will do all that is in our power to make thee honored and loved by all men. In the meantime do thou, our merciful Mother, the supreme comforter of the afflicted, accept this our act of reparation which we offer thee for ourselves and for all our families, as well as for all who impiously blaspheme thee, not knowing what they say. Do thou obtain for them from Almighty God the grace of conversion, and thus render more manifest and more glorious thy kindness, thy power and thy great mercy. May they join with us in proclaiming thee Blessed among women, the Immaculate Virgin and most compassionate Mother of God. (Racccolta, 1950)

Hail Mary three times.

Our Environment And The Last Straw

eye-of-the-needle

“Again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for one who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.” Matt 19:24

As many of you have heard, California lawmakers have passed a law making it a crime,  banning the distribution or sale of plastic straws, to help combat the ocean of plastic garbage which is putting all God’s creatures in danger.

In my humble opinion, this law and many like it being imposed on American citizens, may help as much as tossing a lounge chair off the Titanic so as to avoid sinking. We in this nation, have an infrastructure to handle the recycling of plastics, aluminum and other items, in such a way, it has become an industry in of itself. Most if not all city’s and municipality’s have trash pick up along with recycle pick up, that we place at the curb, making tons of money off the process. Which not only keep our towns and city’s much cleaner, but manage to put many souls to work, creating jobs for people all over this nation.

Who is tossing out all this garbage? We are. We, being human beings across the world. The problem is NOT overpopulation. The problem is not the use of plastics. The problem IS not providing for the needs of the least among us. Our brothers and sisters living in conditions in areas of the world that have never known any other way.

Now, lets look at the number one problem of the worlds plastic garbage issues which IS killing our Lords creatures…

Have we helped any nation to build an infrastructure as this? Have we provided for the needs of our brothers and sisters in third world nations where trash is simply tossed out the front door? Have we educated children and adults on the subject, in other nations in regards to how we all share this planet that our Lord has made? Or have we just been hoping and praying someone else will take care of it?

The reality is folks, If you seek to clean and care for the environment, you MUST care for the needs of human beings first. If we seek to save the sea turtle and the dolphin, for it to be a success, we must strive to save the human being first and foremost. It is we who save them.

Place God first, and all else falls into place..

Never forget that our Lord was Crucified in a garbage dump.

‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

George Washington’s Letter to Catholics

declaration-of-independence-P

In honor of Independence Day, I give you this, as I pray for peace.

Please join the call to prayer for a Pro-life  Supreme Court justice to be nominated and confirmed. HERE

Letter to the Roman Catholics

George Washington

March 15, 1790

Gentlemen:

While I now receive with much satisfaction your congratulations on my being called, by an unanimous vote, to the first station in my country; I cannot but duly notice your politeness in offering an apology for the unavoidable delay. As that delay has given you an opportunity of realizing, instead of anticipating, the benefits of the general government, you will do me the justice to believe, that your testimony of the increase of the public prosperity, enhances the pleasure which I should otherwise have experienced from your affectionate address.

I feel that my conduct, in war and in peace, has met with more general approbation than could reasonably have been expected and I find myself disposed to consider that fortunate circumstance, in a great degree, resulting from the able support and extraordinary candour of my fellow-citizens of all denominations.

The prospect of national prosperity now before us is truly animating, and ought to excite the exertions of all good men to establish and secure the happiness of their country, in the permanent duration of its freedom and independence. America, under the smiles of a Divine Providence, the protection of a good government, and the cultivation of manners, morals, and piety, cannot fail of attaining an uncommon degree of eminence, in literature, commerce, agriculture, improvements at home and respectability abroad.

As mankind become more liberal they will be more apt to allow that all those who conduct themselves as worthy members of the community are equally entitled to the protection of civil government. I hope ever to see America among the foremost nations in examples of justice and liberality. And I presume that your fellow-citizens will not forget the patriotic part which you took in the accomplishment of their Revolution, and the establishment of their government; or the important assistance which they received from a nation in which the Roman Catholic faith is professed.

I thank you, gentlemen, for your kind concern for me. While my life and my health shall continue, in whatever situation I may be, it shall be my constant endeavour to justify the favourable sentiments which you are pleased to express of my conduct. And may the members of your society in America, animated alone by the pure spirit of Christianity, and still conducting themselves as the faithful subjects of our free government, enjoy every temporal and spiritual felicity.

G. Washington

Only in Feminist Fantasyland is abortion considered natural and acceptable, just like a fantasy based cartoon. In Feminist Fantasyland, murdering your own children is considered a choice. A Wounded Heart

blood

When you spill your heart of all its contents in love and humility, all that desire and complete confidence, and those you hoped would hear and be moved, simply trample through the blood and contents like nothing… He knows that pain too.

Many times we confide in others our deepest longings for unity and peace from our hearts and they fall only to be trampled beneath the feet of one who has yet to understand.

“Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing.” – Matthew 23:37

Mocked and ignored while on the cross and still,  He was pouring out everything to who was waiting.

How many parents today, myself included, have children who no longer practice any faith, who share in His wounded heart. Who long to be heard by those who refuse to listen because they believe they know better. Or how many today have brothers and sisters, parents or cousins who do this also. There is an eminence longing, a deep pain in the family today, from many who do not even understand they are sharing in His pain. Sharing His wounded Sacred Heart.

How do we fix this? We follow Him. Not fighting the life we have been given by Him, but embracing this life of suffering, falling more deeply in love with Him. Living more deeply in the spiritual life and less in the material life. Rather than being possessed by the pain and suffering we have received, we must allow ourselves to be possessed by His pain, as it comes with His glory in joy.

If we are possessed by our own pain and sorrow, it is empty and becomes so bitter it can no longer do any good because it is born in pride. Suffering and pain coming from pride opens the door and brings with it wrath which leads to various other vices, some which lead to the destruction of others and self. Which, possesses us to do things that hurt others, self and our Lord.

If one is not possessed by God alone, (God alone being the Holy Trinity), then by what or who, is one possessed by? It is this total possession in thoughts, works, deeds, of our Lord, being completely consumed with Him, which leads a soul to do that which he ought, and not what he feels because he is compelled by Love. To do what is right and just, and not what is diabolical.

Great quote:

HolySpiritLove

If we are united in His suffering, we will be united in His joy. However, we must also be united in Spirit. If we allow the possessions of this world to take over the areas of that which He is to possess within us, the areas of our lives, that which He should already possess,  how then can we truly say, we are teaching our children the faith, or, we are sharing our faith with our neighbors, if we are not truly practicing our faith? I say this as its my own guilt of not practicing the faith as it should have been lived before I turned back to Him. When we live our faith, faith in every aspect of our lives, we truly can be a beacon of His light in the dark. Hope, however, needs to be reinforced by working our faith in all aspects of our daily life. Be not afraid. Live the faith.

Lets go back to the opening of my post. When we didn’t listen. When we trampled through His blood. When we mocked Him by refusing to believe. When we were not moved by His words to change, to move closer to Him, to repent and believe. When we refused to quench His thirst for our love for Him. We were covered in His blood. He loved us during every one of those moments. As we should love those who do not yet hear our cries as we are attached to Him, on and from His cross.

EDIT to Add today: 3/23/17

“But if it is by the finger of God that I drive out demons,
then the Kingdom of God has come upon you..” –

LK 11:14-23

Leaving The Bucket Behind

Well560_0

Leaving the bucket behind, for me, is leaving everything I had and wanted, and accepting all of Him. Following Him. His Truth. As my testimony, leaves me thirsty for more of Him. His, is Life giving water, which one never thirsts again. Its not what I do, but what He continues to do.

The question for me is no longer, do you believe because of what our Lord has done for me, rather, will you believe because of what He says and does,  and are you willing to allow Him to do everything for you? There must be a willingness in the soul, to answer as our Holy Mother did so, to our Lord, “Let it be done to me according to your word.”. A moment for the soul to surrender to the will of God.

“Many more began to believe in him because of his word, and they said to the woman, “We no longer believe because of your word; for we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this is truly the savior of the world.” – John 4:41-42

Why We March – Day 9 #iStand4Life

efa8ee753fbb8e85204ef6073b70360f

#9Days4Life

Intercession

For God’s peace to fill the hearts of all who travel upon the path of adoption.

For those who have had to give up a child.

Although your heart breaks, as mine does as well, I ponder our Holy Mother and how she had to give up her Child, our Lord so we all may live, being driven by a true act of Love, and I join that pain with hers at the foot of His Cross.

May our Lord heal the bonds of Love that have been severed in this life. May our Lord bring His peace to us all and may we all be united again in our Lord Jesus Christ, for all time and eternity, with all His children, praising Him, as we trust in His Divine Providence.  Amen.

Act of Faith

O my God, I firmly believe
that you are one God in three divine Persons,
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
I believe that your divine Son became man
and died for our sins and that he will come
to judge the living and the dead.
I believe these and all the truths
which the Holy Catholic Church teaches
because you have revealed them
who are eternal truth and wisdom,
who can neither deceive nor be deceived.
In this faith I intend to live and die.
Amen.

Act of Hope

O Lord God,
I hope by your grace for the pardon
of all my sins
and after life here to gain eternal happiness
because you have promised it
who are infinitely powerful, faithful, kind,
and merciful.
In this hope I intend to live and die.
Amen.

Act of Love

O Lord God, I love you above all things
and I love my neighbor for your sake
because you are the highest, infinite and perfect
good, worthy of all my love.
In this love I intend to live and die.
Amen.

Why We March – Day 8 #iStand4Life

his-image
Intercession

For an end to the use of the death penalty in our country.

JUSTICE! I want JUSTICE! Perfect justice is a conversion of heart..

Beloved, do not look for revenge but leave room for the wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” – Romans 12:19

When we look to our Lord, mercy and justice go hand and hand. What is more beautiful justice, to end another life or to convert the heart of that soul who’s been blinded by their own injustice to others? To see ones sin and turn from it to do good and not sin, is justice served. By taking away life, justice is there by taken away in the means that the soul is unable to make amends for that injustice committed.

How often to we look at others who have hurt us and say from our hearts,  “if you could only see how you are hurting.”. By taking away a life, we are not allowing that person to see, in their time, given to them by God, but rather taking justice into our own hands.Taking away the gift of repentance. Taking into our own hands and exercising the Sovereignty of God in a way that is contrary to God.

“Do I find pleasure in the death of the wicked—oracle of the Lord GOD? Do I not rejoice when they turn from their evil way and live? And if the just turn from justice and do evil, like all the abominations the wicked do, can they do this evil and still live? None of the justice they did shall be remembered, because they acted treacherously and committed these sins; because of this, they shall die”  Ezekiel 18:23-24

Intercession

May those who long for a child of their own be filled with trust in God’s loving plan.

St. Joseph, Foster Father of our Lord, Jesus Christ, please intercede for couples struggling with the decision to adopt or become Foster Parents to children in need of family, in need of hope, in need of love and help to bring the two together in the love of our Lord. Amen

Why We March – Day 4 #IStand4Life

every-life-is-worth-living
On March 21 of last year, I wrote a post about a the day my dad died, and what has taken place in the years that followed. I have not had much communication with family for many years, outside of  social media and a visit from time to time. One sister finally met my youngest daughter who is now ten, this past fall. The reason I post this, is that for most of my life, I always felt insignificant to anyone. Like garbage you could just toss away and no one would notice. Not so anymore. Although I may be insignificant and unnoticed by the entire world, I know I am not to our Lord nor is any human being.. As my conversion of heart continues, embracing my nothingness in this world and His vastness is something I could have never dreamed of before, as a key to seeing how precious every life is in the eyes of our Lord.

I share this today because of the call to go “One Step Further”. I was misdiagnosed with bipolar disorder not long after my father had entered into eternal life, which, after being re diagnosed a few years later, was actually serious grief issues after a series of extreme life changing incidents, emotionally abusive relationship, losing a job, my mother having lung cancer, losing my home, having to send my oldest daughter to live with a sister, surviving a brutal rape,  I tried to take my own life.  From that moment of waking up in the ICU, knowing our Lord had given me a second chance, I began to walk with Him and not away from Him any longer. Keeping my eyes on Him and focused on him.   My dad and his timely death, played big part, which brought me to today, to see the beautiful significance of the connection of our Lord between us all. I can say, very easily,  life is worth living, no matter how hard it may be, no matter how much suffering there may be, no matter how much one may be lacking in material possessions, each and ever human life, is worth living and only our Lord can take that life from us, as He gives us life.

 One Step Further:
Proponents of doctor-assisted suicide try to draw a sharp distinction between those with a mental illness who want to end their lives and those with a terminal illness who express the same wish. “Every Suicide is Tragic” explores the consequences of this false distinction. (supplemental information and short videos)

I have written quite often about my conversion concerning the day my dad entered into eternal life. It was September 23, 1996, the feast of St. Padre Pio and my dad had been the glue that held my family, brothers and sisters and myself together. Since his death, many have left the Catholic faith and went off doing what ever. In all honestly, since I moved out to California I had lost contact with most of them and focused on what I had asked in that prayer.

The night my dad died, as he lay dying, I prayed that he would talk to our Lord and get me back home to Him. Here we are, 2016 and after extensive repenting and getting back in communion, I will be making my first Profession in the Third Order Of Carmel, TOC on October 1.

This morning at Holy Mass, during the Homily, my priest had told us that the main objective of our duties this Holy Week, was New Evangelization to those within our own Family’s who had left the faith. I sat with my head hung low as I knew this job that had just been presented to me, would be extremely difficult, as my brothers and sisters in my own family, along with nieces and nephews and even my own oldest daughter, have left the faith. Along with cousins, and others. Outside of an older sister of mine, the entire family stopped believing in Him and the faith we all grew up into and went their own ways. It has been extremely painful for me in many ways as I have been viewed by them as the crazy one. One never to be listened to. From the onset of my Conversion of Heart, I can not stop listening to our Lord, nor will I. I left them all and continued to cling to our Lord and the only Truth left in this world. And here we are.

This morning after Holy Mass, I took our Lord in the Eucharist to a few souls in the Nursing Home and had a conversation with an elderly friend of mine named Lilly, who is also a professed member of my Carmelite family.

We spoke about the topic of New Evangelization to family, and I had expressed to her that the only way anyone would ever listen to me, in my own family or home, was if I were dead. After leaving her, I prayed and realized I am dead to them. The person they knew no longer exists and they still won’t listen.

I arrived at home and the mail man had come. I noticed two packages and brought them in without even looking to see who they were addressed for. I assumed they were for my daughter and husband. As I was placing them on the table, I noticed my name on one of them. The return address was my sister whom I don’t talk to much anymore. I opened the package and cried when I seen what it was. Here in a package addressed to me was a message never intended for me, but for all my brothers and sisters who have left the faith. Directly from my dad.

Inside the box I found my dad’s First Holy Communion Certificate dated May 21, 1936 along with his personal prayer book. I read the letter attached from my sister which stated, she had found these in an envelop with my dad’s personal items, marked specifically, “Important Papers”. I knew just how important they are but unfortunately, my sister didn’t understand who they were meant for. This package was a direct message from my dad to my brothers and sisters who had left the faith. The “Important Paper” with your name on it. Remember YOUR Baptism. Remember YOUR First Holy Communion. Remember YOUR Confirmation. Remember OUR Lord. Remember OUR First Love. Return to Him. There is nothing else on the face of the earth more important than our faith. I also knew my dad needed me share this with them. They refuse to listen to me, I pray they listen to him. I pray they return to our Lord also. I pray all my Catholic Family return back home to Him, with their entire heart, mind, soul and strength. There is no greater Love than His for you. Repent. The door is open. Homecoming is just one confession away. I love you and I pray for all my brothers and sisters. St. Constantine the Great, pray for us.

All praise, glory and honor to our Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen.

EDIT TO ADD: After I had written this today, a tweet came across from the USCCB that just filled me with our Lord’s love.

Executive Order To Defund International Planned Parenthood – Signed

donaldtrump88

President Donald Trump today signed an executive order to defund International Planned Parenthood. Via LifeNews.com

Praise be to our Lord, Jesus Christ!

Today’s Antiphon from Divine Office: “Let us approach the Lord with praise and thanksgiving.”

Ant. 1 Lord, I have sought to do your will, through which you give me life.

From today’s Midday  Prayer:

Psalm 119

In you, O Lord, I take refuge;
let me never be put to shame.
In your justice rescue me, free me:
pay heed to me and save me.

Be a rock where I can take refuge,
a mighty stronghold to save me;
for you are my rock, my stronghold.
Free me from the hand of the wicked,
from the grip of the unjust, of the oppressor.

It is you, O Lord, who are my hope,
my trust, O Lord, since my youth.
On you I have leaned from my birth,
from my mother’s womb you have been my help.
My hope has always been in you.

My fate has filled many with awe
but you are my strong refuge.
My lips are filled with your praise,
with your glory all the day long.
Do not reject me now that I am old;
when my strength fails do not forsake me.

For my enemies are speaking about me;
those who watch me take counsel together.
They say: “God has forsaken him; follow him,
seize him; there is no one to save him.”
O God, do not stay far off:
my God, make haste to help me!

Let them be put to shame and destroyed,
all those who seek my life.
Let them be covered with shame and confusion,
all those who seek to harm me.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit:
— as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ever. Amen.

O God, turn back, and bring us to life.
— Then your people will rejoice in you.

Why We March – Day 1 #IStand4Life

fetus

#9DaysforLife with @USCCB begins today as #WePray for the conversion of hearts and an end to abortion. #iStand4Life

Please participate in 9 Days for Life  HERE

Taken from The Gospel of Life.

77. This new law also gives spirit and shape to the commandment “You shall not kill”. For the Christian it involves an absolute imperative to respect, love and promote the life of every brother and sister, in accordance with the requirements of God’s bountiful love in Jesus Christ. “He laid down his life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren” (1 Jn 3:16).

The commandment “You shall not kill”, even in its more positive aspects of respecting, loving and promoting human life, is binding on every individual human being. It resounds in the moral conscience of everyone as an irrepressible echo of the original covenant of God the Creator with mankind. It can be recognized by everyone through the light of reason and it can be observed thanks to the mysterious working of the Spirit who, blowing where he wills (cf. Jn 3:8), comes to and involves every person living in this world.

It is therefore a service of love which we are all committed to ensure to our neighbour, that his or her life may be always defended and promoted, especially when it is weak or threatened. It is not only a personal but a social concern which we must all foster: a concern to make unconditional respect for human life the foundation of a renewed society.

We are asked to love and honour the life of every man and woman and to work with perseverance and courage so that our time, marked by all too many signs of death, may at last witness the establishment of a new culture of life, the fruit of the culture of truth and of love.

Fools Gold

“Do not put your trust in princes, in human beings, who cannot save.”

While a man relishes in the fleeting glory of a Cubs win, or a Trump victory, he must always keep in mind that all that glitters is not gold, and this worldly “glory” is but fleeting to the Glory of our Lord Jesus Christ, which never fades nor the relishing in, come to demise simply at the next world series or presidential election, but is forever eternal.

If we seek the Eternal Glory of our Lord, we must never be content in the “consolation prizes” but simply in our Lords own consolation, that in this life, we come to know, through His Word and His promise to those who endure until the very end.

Voting For The Little Souls In 2016

child

We attended Holy Mass last night. We sat behind a group of souls (5 pews full) from Noah Homes, which is a group of developmentally disabled souls. No one asked them to come last night for any political specific reason. They didn’t get up to speak. Their presence ALONE to me, was a clear sign from our Lord telling ME, they are His little children who NEED someone to protect their right to life and to live, from this culture of death which believes souls like these have no right to be born, and as of late, can be euthanized, or as they like to pass it off today, put to sleep like pets because they do not fit the cookie cutter form of “human” this sick society, which deems these little souls as worthless. Their witness was AMAZING. All they were there for, was to worship our Lord.

At this point, when I ponder casting a vote for a 3rd party, I can only think of that vote being cast for my self righteousness. Knowing, that our Lord loved us first, as sinful as we are, before we all became aware of His love for us, and we in fact, made the choice to love Him back as obedient children. We know the plans of Clinton and the culture of death she wants to push further, as history has already played this card of Nazi Germany during WWII. We know that Trump once said the things he did, and now has not only changed his mind, BUT his actions are proving that he is pushing for pro life, be it in little ways. We KNOW that a 3rd party vote would split the Trump vote and place Clinton in the White House and make it a sure win once again for the culture of death. My conscious, my heart and my soul, in the current climate, after seeing these souls last night, tell me with out a doubt, I NEED to give my vote to Trump/Pence not for my own good, but for the good of these souls and the unborn, along with serious prayers for the conversion of this country, back to placing our Lord first, our neighbors second, ESPECIALLY the little ones, and myself last.

Peace.

Lord have mercy on us all and convert the hardened hearts of souls in this nation and all over the entire world.

Discipleship Comes With Persecution

per1

Regarding:

If We Reject Trump, We May Be Inviting Persecution

The election is not Constantine VS Diocletian.

Discipleship and persecution in this world are in union. Although bitter at times, sweetness soon follows. It is what we do with this persecution, that can make or break us. When we see our persecution from the view of our Lord, mounted on the Cross, our vantage point changes and our vision becomes further, our faith in Him becomes stronger, and we come to see the great vastness of the souls who have not yet come to understand the beautiful love of our Lords passion. “Enter through the narrow gate”.

No matter who you vote for, discipleship comes with persecution to those who live and breath the faith. When we vote, we are voting for a political leader. We are not giving them our heart, mind and soul so to worship them. We are called to vote, we are not called to   worship them, nor the political party they belong to.. “No slave is greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours.” But, this persecution also comes with the JOY of our Lord. “And they will do all these things to you on account of my name, because they do not know the one who sent me.”.

In this moment, when we are Crucified with Him,  we come to the full realization that the “world” lost its moral compass long ago and everything we, while attached to it, had done, had been for vanity. In this moment, we can choose to let go of the attachment to it, no matter what this attachment may be,  and grasp the absolute love and peace of Christ, freely pulling closer to Him, placing all our hope and trust in Him and not the things of this world. Then, we can as He asks, set the world on fire with Him. “Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” And they divided up his clothes by casting lots.”

What this election has become, is the choice between worldly illusions, or discipleship. If you choose discipleship, keep in mind, His name is not on the voting ballot, as He is already our King, our Lord and our Savior, Jesus Christ. Follow Him.

Forgiveness And Family Reconciliation

dsc04223

Very timely pondering from my retreat which took place on April 15 through the 17 that truly needs to be shared. May it bring healing to many.

Forgiveness and Family Reconciliation

[Adapted and reorganized from personal notes from a talk given by Fr. Peter Mary on 16 April 2016 as part of a retreat given at the El Carmelo Retreat House in Redlands, California.]

Question:

Do I have someone I need to forgive? Do I need to forgive myself?

How do I begin the process of forgiveness?

We are obligated to be merciful because God was merciful to us first.

Repay God’s mercy to us by being merciful to others.

The Lord’s Prayer (Mt 6:5-15) is explicit. Our forgiveness from the Father is conditioned upon our forgiveness of others.

St. Teresa of Avila’s Way of Perfection (chap. 36).

Defining Forgiveness:

What Forgiveness Is:

Forgiveness is act of will and intellect.

Forgiveness is a process which takes time and practice. That’s why it seems hard.

Forgiveness is a free gift.

It does not depend upon the actions or response of the offender.

It is distinct from reconciliation, a further step, which includes the offender.

What Forgiveness Is Not:

Forgiveness is separate from any need to challenge the offender’s destructive behavior.

Forgiveness does not guarantee we forget.

Forgiveness does not remove the pain.

Fruits of Forgiveness:

Forgiving leads to joyful living and peace.

Not forgiving leads to other problems.

It can lead to loneliness and isolation due to an inability to trust others.

It can destroy clear thinking.

It can destroy physical and mental health. The body and mind are connected.

Recognizing Who to forgive:

Consider the people within your own family.

Consider the people you need to forgive.

Consider the people who annoy you.

It is not possible to completely avoid people who annoy us. Trying to ignore them leads to loneliness and isolation.

We need to transform the annoyances.

Principles for Practicing Forgiveness:

Recognize you could be wrong or have misunderstood.

Take into account the difficulties the offender might have had in their life.

Weak offenders may be incapable of forgiving. Forgiveness does not depend upon the offender reciprocating.

Be careful not to limit forgiveness by placing conditions.

Recall how Jesus embraced the pain of his passion and the cross.

Good can come out of evil especially if we imitate the cross. We need to transform evil. (purification of memories is dealt by St John of the Cross in the Ascent.)

Forgive the offender immediately.

Depend upon God’s love to empower your forgiveness.

Nine Practices to Develop Forgiveness:

1. Pray for those you need to forgive.

2. Pray for your ability to forgive.

3. Receive regular confession in gratitude for God’s mercy on you.

4. Receive regular reception of the Eucharist for God’s mercy to be present within you.

5. Become more aware of a tendency to see only the bad in people and strive to see the good.

6. Imagine yourself into the other person’s situation and the pain and hurt they may have felt.

7. Avoid unreasonable expectations of yourself and others.

8. Be honest about yourself that you could be wrong.

9. Examine your conscience to recognize progress.

St. George

Uccello-StGeorge2-BAR800

St. George,

Heroic Catholic soldier and defender of your Faith, you dared to criticize a tyrannical Emperor and were subjected to horrible torture. You could have occupied a high military position but you preferred to die for your Lord.
Obtain for us the great grace of heroic Christian courage that should mark soldiers of Christ. Amen

Requesting Prayers For Cathleen

woman praying silhoutte

I am asking my readers to please pray for Virginia and Cathleen. Mother and daughter, both in the winter of life.

Virginia is an elderly woman who I am visiting every Monday, as I bring our Lord in the Eucharist to her. She is currently in a nursing facility and unable to care for herself. She informed me that her daughter Cathleen had been diagnosed with advanced Ovarian Cancer a year ago. She was doing much better and looked like she may survive after receiving Anointing of the Sick. Last week as I visited Virginia, she had advised me that her daughter had called her and told her she was not doing very well again and didn’t think she would be able to see her again as she believed her time in exile was almost over and believed our Lord would be taking her very soon.

I had put out a prayer request on facebok last week, seeking prayers for them both. As I visited Virginia today, Cathleen is still with us but still in need of our prayers.

I beg you, in your charity, please remember them both in your prayers. Along with all women who suffer with Ovarian Cancer. Thank you.

AMORIS LAETITIA – Read It

exhortation-apostolique-Amoris-Laetitia

Its best to read it and all of it, along with all the actual documents the  Popes write,  than to read what the main stream media wants you to think it says. Its also a good idea to pray to our Lord and ask Him for the gift of understanding so you can see what is being said with your entire heart and not just what you want to see.

Don’t Run Away – Be Not Afraid

StJP2

I find it beautiful that when our Lord makes known His presence, its after a time of reflecting that we are able to put it all together and say without a doubt, after He has already been in the moment we are experiencing, I know that was you Lord.  He makes it very clear by doing this, that we are not to cling to the moment, nor the people in it with us, but rather too Him  and understand that He truly is always with us, sometimes hidden, when we forget He is in the Tabernacle and in His time, we come to see Him in many different ways in our lives.

Imagine being the soldiers at the tomb during His glorious resurrection. Imagine the anxiety of the soldiers who at one point were simply doing their job and the very next were faced with something so profound, the only thing they could do besides face it, was to run in fear. Imagine the fear that would cause a hardened trained solder to abandon his post. Imagine knowing that you are a soldier appointed to guard a post and leaving that post meant absolute death for not following the orders of your superiors.

Through my entire awareness of my conversion of heart, I have been presented with so many forms of anxiety and it was only when I learned how to depend on our Lord for everything that that the anxiety’s I was facing became nothing more than temptations to run away from the cross our Lord was asking me to carry with Him. Many times through this, when the pressure was at its greatest and I just couldn’t take any more of the pain I was seeing in others, that they never even noticed in themselves, and in the pain it was causing me to see it, I would be tempted to toss it all aside and run away. Anywhere away from it all. When we do that, we find out very quickly that no matter where we run to, its already there too. The reason its already there is because its our Lord calling you to help Him. Calling you to cling to Him. Calling you to pick up that cross of daily life and walk through all the destruction and misery that is attacking you, to walk through with Him, the valley of the shadow of death and into Life. Life in Him and with Him.

There is nothing more peaceful that a soul can do than to call out to our Lord while in the midst of the turmoil with your entire heart, calling to Him: “Jesus I trust in You”. He always answers as He is already there. “Be not afraid”.  To the true believer, all the heavy fog of anxiety (fight or flight) and despair (run away) blows away and is replaced by His calm (fight for Him). If you are one with Him, handing Him all of it and not clinging to what you can’t let go of, you are able to see Him as the Storm that is raging all around and He pulls you into His Eye where there is silence, peace and joy. Like a hurricane, in the eye of the storm there is always calm. Its what is on the outside of the eye that is being blown about and scattered. Its not to say we don’t enter into the turbulence that surrounds, but we know we are anchored in Him and we have Him as our Life line back to the calm, in order to help those overcome by their own fears of destruction and anxiety’s of daily life.

Keep me as the apple of your eye;

hide me in the shadow of your wings – Psalm 17:8

How do we stay in the Eye of God? Love. We don’t run away. We don’t leave our post. We face all things with faith in Him. We walk through our lives as He on the via dolorosa with Him until we come to the end, in which He says “It is finished”.

Up until yesterday my husband and I had been experiencing a rough patch in our relationship. I had been struggling a lot lately with not being able to see our Lord in those within my own home and particularly in my husband. Much like the woman who went to the tomb, I know our Lord is here someplace, I just couldn’t find Him. As I wrote yesterday, I spoke about how my morning offering was very different. Something beautifully different. Before my husband left for work, he hugged me and smiled. For the first time in many years, it was genuine. It was a genuine hug in love and not just because that was what a husband did. Its been very difficult but our Lord has given my husband so much grace and I can see Him working through him.  I can see our Lord working in him, trying to wake him up, but I had not seen my husband turn to Him and say yes Lord. That smile on his face was one I had not seen for some time and when he left, all I wanted to do was to see that smile when he came back. We must always remember that even though we can’t see, through faith, we trust Him, no matter how painful it may be.

This morning as I write this, after the events of yesterday, after of the events I have faced to date, after it has all unfolded and the very moment is now memory, the entire Resurrection of our Lord at that moment outside of His tomb, is in my heart in that hug and smile, and now I can see and shout with all certainty in JOY, “‘Rabbuni!’” I know with my entire heart, that was you. I picked up this cross, and all of them in this life that I give completely to You, with You and carry them all in love with You. Sacred Heart of Jesus, I trust in You.

Praise, glory and honor to You O Lord, for all time and eternity. Amen
