Rock Stars

eae42d1782fee742c5363637147c04d6--saint-faustina-faustina-kowalska

As I was sitting with our Lord in Adoration, I found myself praying for all the “Rock Stars” I idolized as a kid. Most of whom are no longer with us now. I’m not sure why this all came up in Adoration as I simply wanted to spend time with our Lord. But the subject of false idols has been heavy on me lately, in regards to how much so many place their trust on and in the worlds “stars”, be in musical, acting, political etc, rather than on how much in need they are also, as we all are, of healing, mercy and our Lord.

False idols are made from the same clay as you & I. Glits & glam is an illusion. Scratch the surface, and you see the same faults, flaws, deep yearnings and misdeeds (sins) as everyone else. What makes the difference between a false idol and a model, is when we choose the fill the void we have, with our Lord and not money, drugs, women, men, sex nor any lesser creature or creation. Every one of us, is a broken pot, seeking to be placed back together, in need of our Creator to do so.

Our Lord is the Author of all creation. The gifts and talents we receive come directly from Him. Should we not use them to give Him glory?

For the past few days, I had been listening to the old music I did once upon a time, digging through live performances and documentary’s. I was struck by the simplicity of those whom I thought were so great, and could see the same struggles that I faced in my lifetime. A deep longing to be loved. Not as the world loves, and rather than turning to our Lord, taking a road seldom ever return. Taking everything but our Lord and trying to recreate that Love, to shove into the soul to fill the void of who I was truly missing.

As I said above, I found myself praying for all the performers who had passed away. Deeply, asking our Lord to have mercy on all of us. As my time was done, and I left, getting into my car and turning on the key, a song had began to play called “Friend of the Devil” by the Grateful Dead. I rolled my eyes as changed the station and drove away thinking about how so many think that guy is a “friend”, who our Lord himself called the Gospel of John 8:44  “You belong to your father the devil and you willingly carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in truth, because there is no truth in him. When he tells a lie, he speaks in character, because he is a liar and the father of lies.”. How we often blame our Lord for everything that goes wrong, for the chaos, turmoil and all else that is not gratifying to what we deem is.

Pondering deeper, what a sad song from such a sad soul. I was never a Dead fan, nor cared very much for Jerry Garcia or the entire dead head fan base ideology.  What went through my mind was simply “ick”. Disgust for hearing that song when I was leaving our Lord in prayer. Disgust for the fact a song like that was playing or was ever written.  I came to the stop sign and what immediately caught my heart was a billboard.

I sat for a few moments in awe at this “sign” and knew in my heart exactly what our Lord was saying to me. I  began to ask for fogginess for all those whom I did not follow, did not like, did not idolize and did not admire. Also, teaching me never to assume the worst of anyone, but continue to hope in our Lord. All of us are lost at one time or another. May it not be, nor ever be for all eternity.

Who Is The Accuser

St_Benedict

The many, many “news” story’s I see today, written by whomever, saying Catholics must love and accept LGBT, or this group, or that group and so on, has caused me to ask our Lord in prayer, and I pray you ask Him also: Who is my accuser that assumes the Church does not love them?

The Catholic Church has always been open to all, as a Father and Mother loves all their children, always open to welcoming life to the family of faith. The disconnect comes when we assume that Love is acceptance of insubordination or defiance. It is not. Love corrects the defiant or insubordinate child and does not allow the child to be disruptive, for the benefit of the child. Love does have rules. When the rules of Love are broken, it is not Love, but less than Love.

“Many gave false witness against him, but their testimony did not agree.” Mark 14:56

He Descended Into Hell

CATHOLICVS-DESCENDIT-AD-INFEROS 2

What does this mean?

Ponder

“Today a great silence reigns on earth, a great silence and a great stillness. A great silence because the King is asleep. The earth trembled and is still because God has fallen asleep in the flesh and he has raised up all who have slept ever since the world began. . . He has gone to search for Adam, our first father, as for a lost sheep. Greatly desiring to visit those who live in darkness and in the shadow of death, he has gone to free from sorrow Adam in his bonds and Eve, captive with him – He who is both their God and the son of Eve. . . “I am your God, who for your sake have become your son. . . I order you, O sleeper, to awake. I did not create you to be a prisoner in hell. Rise from the dead, for I am the life of the dead.” 488

All The False Promises

temptation_of_christ

As I ponder today’s gospel reading, and all the ways the evil one tried to tempt our Lord, so brazen as to offer our Lord everything He already has. Everything, in all creation, belongs to our Lord. This is how empty the so called promises are.

Imagine the evil one as a door to door salesman, coming to your home, knocking on your door, forcing himself in and trying to sell you everything within your home that you already own. Imagine him pointing to the photos of your family & children, or placing his arms around them, and telling you, if you follow him, you can have them too. This is the insolence of evil. That same evil so full of himself, to approach our Lord and offer Him all that He had already created. What the evil one didn’t take into account, was our Lord’s mission to regain from the evil ones hands, what he thought he had stripped away from Him, was already done.

Like a hamster on a treadmill, we chase after all these empty promises as if we just go around one more time, we will be filled with them all, when that big break comes! The big break comes, when we are no longer alive and we see the life we lead was full of emptiness and it can no longer be filled with hope, love and faith in our Lord, complete with eternal joy.

I also remember, that our Lord, had us first, through the sacrament of Baptism when we rejected Satan and all his empty promises. Lent is the opportune time to turn back to Him, inviting Him back into our “homes”, to rid them of that door to door snake oil salesman.

Reports Of Civil War

rosary-in-hand

According to the “media” there is a “civil war” inside the Catholic Church over “doctrine”….

Has it dawned on anyone that there really isn’t?  Can the left index finger declare war against the right index finer on the same “Body”? The only “war” that exists, is between souls out of communion with our Lord, and our Lord. “Enter through the narrow gate.” comes to heart and mind.

“Jesus answered and said to him, “Whoever loves me will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our dwelling with him.” – John 14:23

Injustice Of Divorced And Remarried Receiving Holy Communion

pope-francis-and-eucharist-660x330

Pondering souls being granted full communion after Divorce and remarriage outside of the Church. SEE: Top Vatican Cardinal: Not Even A Pope Can Change Divine Law on Communion

Personal thoughts and ponderings as I have been here. See: Cohabitation And Holy Communion along with Gift Of Marriage and various other posts in this personal journey back to our Lord.

Knowingly granting full communion to any soul who does not admit error, without the process of Annulment, is unjust and an injustice to the souls in error.

The soul in error therefore is robbed of seeking and finding Divine Provence in the deeper meaning she or he has been called to find our Lord in.

The souls granting full communion to the soul, removing “punishment”, being separated from receiving our Lord in Holy Communion, are committing a grave error by becoming a stumbling block, as our Lord once called St. Peter for trying to stand in His way from what He must do, to the soul called to a deeper union with our Lord. I ponder the millstone placed around the neck of one who keeps one of this little children from Him. Far to often we forget that punishment due to our sinfulness is a grace, (purgative) which allows the soul to see a deeper Love of our Lord, and seek that full union. Separation makes the heart grow fonder. We must understand that this separation, no mater how painful in this life, through our own fault, is a temporary separation, in which we are called to a deepness of our Lord, that at any other time in our lives, would never have been found, without the grace of repentance.

Above is a deeper pondering from and earlier FB post I had made from a calling in my heart:

When punishment is removed IE. in regards to not being able to receive our Lord through our own fault (Mortal Sin) of marriage outside of the Church laws of Marriage, we remove the souls conscious of right and wrong, creating lukewarm souls, instead of souls on fire for our Lord to DO in Love for Him, what is right and just, by wanting to FIX what we have done wrong. We take away personal responsibility to encounter our Lord in the very simple act of turning from our fault, and turning to His mercy.

FAMILIARIS CONSORTIO

Take from the above link:

Gradualness and Conversion

9. To the injustice originating from sin-which has profoundly penetrated the structures of today’s world-and often hindering the family’s full realization of itself and of its fundamental rights, we must all set ourselves in opposition through a conversion of mind and heart, following Christ Crucified by denying our own selfishness: such a conversion cannot fail to have a beneficial and renewing influence even on the structures of society.

What is needed is a continuous, permanent conversion which, while requiring an interior detachment from every evil and an adherence to good in its fullness, is brought about concretely in steps which lead us ever forward. Thus a dynamic process develops, one which advances gradually with the progressive integration of the gifts of God and the demands of His definitive and absolute love in the entire personal and social life of man. Therefore an educational growth process is necessary, in order that individual believers, families and peoples, even civilization itself, by beginning from what they have already received of the mystery of Christ, may patiently be led forward, arriving at a richer understanding and a fuller integration of this mystery in their lives.

Post US Election Observation

jesus-king-of-kings

I need to make one thing very clear to some Catholics on facebook, (edit to add: and Catholics all over “social media”) attacking other Catholics who voted for Trump. Remember when we had Primary’s in this country and the same folks who were FORCED to vote for Trump in the General Election, did NOT in any way support Trump and choose another candidate? No. You don’t. Because you can’t see past the beam in your own eye while you try to pick the sliver out of your neighbors eye.

Your third party candidate didn’t win. Clinton didn’t win. And when THIS Catholic voted for Trump, I held my nose and voted, doing my civic duty, because NEITHER candidate was, in my mind, worthy of the title of President of the USA. As for your third party Candidate? I live in California, and a vote for ANY candidate not a Democrat, doesn’t matter because this state is so blue, its dead. I have grown tired of being accused of Trump Worship or any political leader worship simply because I didn’t vote for YOUR guy, by those who obviously do not understand that there ARE people in this country who do not worship political leaders, NOR the “Idols” we create for ourselves which separate us from our Lord.

Adding to the pettiness of the communist & socialist protests in the streets, by engaging in the same Anti-Catholic rhetoric as they do, falsely accusing your Brothers & Sisters in Christ, and attacking back with prideful hurt “feelings” because you can’t yet live the Beatitudes, brings NOTHING to the Glory of our Lord. I highly suggest you put away your political rantings reeking of idol worship hidden behind the banner of “Social Justice”, which truly exposes your false piety, and lack of love for neighbor and return to your first Love. 1 John 4:18.

Here is the thing about the political left and political right. They both practice the same religion of nationalism. The hate on one side, is no different than the hate on the other side. I beg my brothers & sister in Christ, to pull closer to our Lord. Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you. Hold fast and tight to our Lord. Practice what is preached. Pray more and LOVE anyway. – Peg Demetris

Love Jesus, Hate Religion?

Love them both….

Great post over at Pathoes by Frank Weathers titled: Love Jesus, Hate Religion? Fr. Robert Barron Fires Both Barrels. I don’t normally post links to others story’s on this blog, but in this case, I feel I must. This is the response to 22-year-old Jefferson Bethke’s “Why I Hate Religion, But Love Jesus”

Please read the entire story HERE

From Fr. Robert Barron’s Word On Fire
“Addressing the massively popular Why I Hate Religion, but Love Jesus” video, Father Barron fields some questions the viral clip raised, including why the video was so popular, how religion is defined, and how Catholics are to respond.”

Video #2, wherein we learn the meaning if a few words and rediscover a few heresies that many have never heard of, and didn’t even know they were unwittingly following. (Comment kudos to Pathoes)
